2008 WMACCA Employment Law Conference Coming on May 15

Annual round-up will feature keynote by Ronald Cooper, GC of the EEOC

Registration is now open for WMACCA's annual Employment Conference on May 15. 

This annual conference provides an insightful survey of major issues in the employment and labor law arena.  This year's conference, presented by Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, will feature a keynote address by Ronald S. Cooper, General Counsel of the EEOC.

The Conference will feature four sessions. The content and level of the Conference will be appropriate for in-house generalists and employment specialists, as well as your human resources or operations colleagues. This year's sessions are:

  • Wage & Hour Do's and Don'ts
  • Developments in Employee Leave Laws - The New FMLA Regulations
  • Update on ICE I-9 Enforcement
  • California and Fourth Circuit Roundup

We are very pleased to have Ronald S. Cooper, General Counsel of the EEOC, join us as the keynote speaker at the lunch that follows these sessions. Mr. Cooper was sworn in as General Counsel in August 2006. He came to the EEOC from private practice with Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where he specialized in employment litigation for more than 30 years.

Breakfast and registration open at 8 a.m., with the four 45-minute sessions starting at 8:30 a.m.  Lunch will begin at 12 noon and the conference will conclude at 1:30 p.m.

The Conference will be held at the Tysons Corner Marriott, 8028 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA  The Conference costs $75 for WMACCA/ACC members and $100 for non-members.  Your colleagues in human resources, operations, etc. are welcome to attend.  3.0 hours of Virginia Bar MCLE credit, pending.
