Announcement: New Executive Director of ACC NCR

A message from the ACC NCR Board of Directors:

We have very exciting news to share with you. The Search Committee, with the help of Ilene Reid and Garrison & Sisson, concluded a thorough search for our new Executive Director.  We are pleased and thrilled to let you know that Shannon Graving will join us as the new Executive Director of ACC NCR.

Shannon is currently Assistant Director for Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO), a global partnership project of ACC and Pro Bono Institute (PBI).  Over the past seven years, she has worked with dozens of ACC chapters and thousands of in-house counsel from legal departments of all sizes, across industries and around the world, to help them start or expand their pro bono programs.  In this position, she has been responsible for consulting, events, publications, board relations, and more, and has collaborated with law firms, legal services organizations, bar associations, and the courts on pro bono and access to justice initiatives.  Prior to CPBO, Shannon worked in the Washington, D.C., office of Holland & Knight, with a practice focused on mergers and acquisitions and management liability insurance.  In addition to her commercial work, Shannon led the firm’s pro bono efforts assisting Iraqi nationals endangered due to their affiliation with the U.S. government and has actively supported a number of community organizations, including the National Women’s History Museum.  She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Georgetown University Law Center.

We are very fortunate to add Shannon to our fantastic team and look forward to her leadership.  Shannon will start in her new role in early April.

As you know, Ilene has generously offered to work with Shannon to ensure a smooth transition and will continue to work on various projects going forward.  We are so grateful for Ilene’s 20 years of steadfast leadership and her ongoing commitment to the chapter.  We are excited for the future of ACC NCR!
