Rosetta Stone

Ransomware: A Nightmare Before Christmas?

During the first half of 2017, 42% of all ransomware infections hit organizations. Because of the threat posed by the possibility of a ransomware attack on our organizations, in-house counsel, CEOs, CISOs, and anyone else who is responsible for the organization's data security should attend this CLE to get essential insights into the current state of the threat landscape, preventive steps you can take now, and practical guidance on how you may want to react if (heaven forbid) your organization is attacked. This signature luncheon will take place on Mon., Dec. 11,12 noon to 2 p.m., in McLean, VA (live only). Click here for full details and registration.

Legal Brief: Real Estate - LOIs and Lease Consideration When Preparing for a Buildout
Tues., Dec. 19 - 9:30 a.m.

Letters of intent (LOI) for leasing space may not be binding contractual documents, but they can set the stage for smooth lease negotiations. During this 15-minute "Legal Brief" conference call, you will learn about the major issues that should be addressed at the LOI stage of lease negotiation from Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Julia Kreyskop. Topics will include timing, risks of late delivery and buildout and costs. Click here for full details and sign-up.

Be Fashionably Professional

First impressions (and second ones) count.  Do you know how to dress for the office to be both appropriate and stylish in the workplace? At our Women's Initiative event on Thursday, December 14, "Styleauteur" Lauren Rothman will address the basics of fashion and executive presence by offering advice, anecdotes, and style alerts that will help you achieve the right professional look. She'll also identify the ultimate wardrobe essentials, and reveal shopping strategies and destinations for the everyday person. Isn't it lucky that this event is just in time for your holiday wish list? An informal reception will precede and follow Lauren's talk, providing plenty of time for networking with your fellow ACC NCR members and representatives of our 2017 sponsors.
