NJCCA President's Message

by Valerie Camara

To the Membership,

I would like to take this opportunity to recount a few highlights from our full day CLE conference, which was held on Friday September 24th.  We had a record attendance at our Eight Annual Conference with well over 350 attendees.  The board recognizes that we have a few things to work out for our next conference to better address the increase in attendees.  However, the feedback we have gotten from attendees was very positive.  I would like to again take this opportunity to recognize the chairs for the conference Barbara Sellinger and Martin Carrara and the force behind NJCCA, our Executive Director, Gail Girard.  In addition, I would like to thank the numerous sponsors that we had that helped us make this a successful event, with a special thanks to our metal sponsors.

The board is now focusing on organizing the program for our Annual Dinner meeting which is scheduled for November 18th at the Dolce in Basing Ridge.  We will be holding our board retreat during the afternoon, followed by a 2-hour ethics CLE program hosted by our Platinum sponsors, Greenberg Traurig and Lowenstein Sandler beginning at 3pm.  The evening will continue with our wine tasting at 5pm and cocktail reception with jazz music beginning at 6pm and followed by dinner.  While the major objective of the evening will be the installation of the next NJCCA president, Evan Turtz and the officers and board for 2011, we are very fortunate to have Dan Bowling, as our keynote speaker talk about work-life balance and the happiness of lawyers.  As always, the board and I invite you to join us for a jam packed evening.

I would also invite you to look out for a number of upcoming programs this fall

Regards,

Valerie Camara
