NJCCA President's Message
by Lee Bream
To NJCCA Members,
It’s a new year and NJCCA is completing its plans for programs and events for the year. Our key events will be a Spring Cocktail reception, Golf Outing, All Day CLE Conference, and the Annual Dinner. We are also working with our Committees and Sponsors to schedule our various substantive law sessions. We have used last year’s membership survey to help drive our effort, however, we always like to hear from you. We welcome any suggestions for topics, speakers, or special events.
As noted elsewhere in the Newsletter, we are in the process of searching for a new Executive Director. Thanks to you helping spread the word, we have received resumes from many qualified candidates. We hope to end the recruiting process very soon. In the interim, if we are a bit slow in responding to your correspondence or questions, you’ll know the reason why.
It is with sadness that I note the passing of Richard Jeydel, a past President of NJCCA. Rick was most recently the General Counsel for Kanematsu USA Inc. He was a strong advocate for ADR in all its forms and he served as an arbitrator, mediator, and teacher of arbitration. His death is a loss to NJCCA, ACC, and the NJ legal community. A memorial service was held in South Orange on January 5th.
