Managing Intellectual Property Matters In-House?
Question: I am in-house counsel for a medium-sized multinational company, and our
general counsel has decided that the legal department will now handle our
company’s Intellectual Property (“IP”) matters, rather than outsourcing this
function. The GC has asked me to develop
a strategic plan for assuming responsibility of our company’s IP-based matters;
however, I do not have a background in IP law.
