Your Answers Matter - Take Part in an Ethics & Compliance Survey
The Compliance Criteria in Government Enforcement
Decisions Survey is designed to obtain information about
civil and criminal investigations or cases where prosecutorial charging
or sentencing decisions were influenced by the organization’s Ethics
& Compliance (E&C) Program. Despite the 16-year history of the
ground-breaking policies of the federal Sentencing Guidelines and
several benchmarking studies on company ethics and compliance programs,
no large-scale research has been conducted to determine whether and how
prosecutors and other enforcement personnel use information regarding
E&C program effectiveness in their charging, penalty
recommendations, and settlement decisions.
Results
of the study will
benefit ACC member compliance officers and attorneys who manage risk,
as well as in-house counsel and anyone charged with governance
responsibilities or with assisting in audits of E&C program
effectiveness. ACC members who participate in the survey will receive a
complimentary copy of the report. To take part in this important
project, please
complete the Compliance Criteria in Government Enforcement
Decisions Survey by Friday, August 29, 2008.

ACC/Street Law Featured in Chicago Lawyer For Their Chicago Chapter Diversity Pipeline Program
The Association of Corporate Counsel Chicago and Street Law hosted a Pipeline Program for 75 high school students in Chicago, and Elgin, Illinois. The program was based on a prototype created by Street Law, Inc. and ACC, whereby ACC Chicago members, and lawyers from DLA Piper and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal volunteered their time to educate students about the law and about legal careers. The program included attorneys visiting classrooms to help teach law-related lessons, and a one-day conference involving interactive workshops.
To read the full article go to www.chicagolawyer.com, and for additional information about the ACC/Street Law Pipeline Programs, visit www.streetlaw.org/pipeline.asp.
