Small commercial real estate firm in Irvine seeking a full-time entry level attorney with real estate experience dealing with shopping center and tenant leases and documents. This position is Sempra’s primary securities lawyer. This is a very visible and highly regarded position. It reports directly to the General Counsel, is one of the GC’s main deputies, and interacts with him and senior management on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will be an expert in securities law, corporate governance, and the legal issues affecting a public NYSE-listed company. This candidate will work in close coordination with the Controller and his financial team to prepare the periodic and quarterly filings for all of Sempra’s business units. The Chief Corporate Counsel also reviews press releases and handles general disclosure issues. In addition, the candidate will work closely with Human Resources and the Corporate Secretary on a range of issues, including the annual report, proxy and shareholder proposals.
