Partnering Program for In-Transition Attorneys - NEW!

The Professional Development Committee of the San Diego Chapter of the ACC is excited to introduce the Partnering Program for In-Transition Attorneys.  The program is designed to help “ITAs” meet the challenges of being in-transition by having Partners provide structure, human contact and motivation through helping to identify challenges, setting goals and regularly following up, as well as using personal experiences and knowledge to assist the ITA.

At this time, we are looking for volunteers to sign up as potential Partners for ITAs.  Once we have enough volunteers, we will begin to pair you with an ITA.  You do not need to have personally experienced being in-transition to be a Partner; the only qualifications needed are a willingness to be there for another attorney and listen to the issues they are facing.  The Committee will provide suggestions for goal setting, a contact schedule and other ways Partners can assist the ITA.

The expectations for partners is an average of about 5 hours every other month, including:

*         In person initial meeting with ITA group
*         In person initial meeting with ITA
*         Weekly follow up calls with the ITA (15-30 minutes)
*         Monthly in-person meetings (30-60 minutes)
*         Every other month in person meeting with entire ITA and Partner group (approximately 60 minutes)

For those of you who are interested in being a Partner, please complete the form and return it to me ASAP as it will be helpful in pairing you with an ITA.  Thank you in advance for your commitment to this program!

At this time, we would like to open the process to any ITAs who would like to be paired with a partner.  For those of you who are interested, please complete the form and return it to me ASAP.  We look forward to hearing from you and hope to be having a kick-off meeting with ITAs and Partners next month.

Also, if anyone is interested in joining the Professional Development Committee, we are always eager to have new members.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the Partnering Program and/or the Professional Development Committee.
