Message from the President

Hello Members:

It has certainly been a busy three months for DELVACCA since our last newsletter.   Since February 15th we have held 36 CLE programs, including the successful In-House Counsel Conference last week.   During this period, we also held the New to In-House Symposium, several practice committee Institutes, community service events, in-transition members’ outreach and many practice committee meetings.   On April 15th we hosted an incredible evening honoring in-house counsel at the Inaugural Corporate Counsel Excellence Awards.

At my installation as your president, I noted that members could expect a “busy agenda” in 2010—boy, that was the understatement of the year!   The Board and Officers are pleased to have been able to present a vast array of quality programming, including informative and cutting-edge CLE’s and many networking opportunities.

The year is almost half over, and we have so much more to deliver in the form of special programming, networking opportunities, Committee meetings, pro bono opportunities and other events.   In the new few months expect more Institute programs—each consisting of 3 CLE programs.   We will hold monthly “Meet Your Counterparts” events in the various regions that we service.   These networking events are growing in popularity, folks are enjoying the interaction with other members at interesting venues.

In addition, expect interesting pro bono opportunities, including involvement with the Street Law program.   We will be working with Overbrook High School students to educate them about the legal profession.  There will be more information about this program in the coming months.

Be sure to join us at the Spring Fling event on June 2nd.  This is one of the Chapter’s most popular events!   This year, the Spring Fling will be held at the Perelman Building (Philadelphia Museum of Art) at the Skylit Galleria.   Do not miss an evening of networking, fine art and smooth jazz!

2010 is shaping up to be a wonderful year for DELVACCA—be a part of the excitement and join us at our CLE programs and events.   I look forward to seeing you there!
