Character, Integrity & Leadership: The Bedrock Principles For Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. Legal Department

All chief legal officers of major corporations have challenging jobs – but A.B. Cruz III, chief legal officer and corporate secretary for Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. (SNI), probably holds down one of the most challenging. It’s not every corporate counsel who, while he supervises the legal operations of a major company, simultaneously serves as a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy Reserve and second in command of a fleet. Among them are the values of leadership, character and integrity….“The most important qualities are those that help a diverse team succeed,” Cruz says. “I build that principle into everything we do here.”
