Updates From ACC Committees

Message from the Chair

Hello and welcome to our latest IP Committee Newsletter. Thanks very to each of you that continue to participate and contribute to our continuing successes. Our eGroup membership has grown by another 500 members, and is now over 7,100 worldwide members. As most of you know, our monthly meetings continue to be well-attended, and in response to your suggestions and ideas, have addressed hot issues of current concern and interest to many members.

As always, I invite each of you to attend our monthly committee calls, and our Webcasts. We always appreciate your participation in our Webinars and “What’s Hot / Legal Quick Hit” presentations. Our 2016 IP Committee and members continue to prepare for the upcoming annual meeting, and have published many new materials that are available on our website:https://www.acc.com/committees/ipc/index.cfm .

We encourage you to use our eGroup to expand your professional network by posting and answering questions here: IP Committee eGroups. Please do not hesitate to contact us with questions, issues, and ideas, you may email me at jbates@clarity-us.com or our communications co-chairs Sean Casey (sean.casey@searchable.com) or Margo Lynn Hablutzel (mhablutzel2@csc.com).  We have and will find opportunities for you to participate in the following leadership and programming team areas: Advocacy, Local Chapter liaisons, Webcast, Top Ten, and What’s Hot.

The IP Committee and I thank all of you whose participation and contributions have continued to increase our meeting attendance numbers, and which have enabled us as a group to generate new IP--centric articles, InfoPaks, webinars, and other materials for our members during monthly meetings, and at ACC national meetings and local ACC chapter events.

We would be remiss if we did not also mention that our ACC IP Committee is due in large part to our sponsors, including especially Kilpatrick Townsend and their team of experts who are always available to bring their impressive expertise and resources to bear in creating new materials for publication and for use in our Webinars.

As the summer of 2016 draws to a close, please know that your IP Committee leadership team remains devoted to bringing timely, substantive, practical, and valuable information to all of our members, in hopes of assisting you in your daily in-house responsibilities. Thank you for you many suggestions and ideas that help us improve;  please continue to reach out to us as we value your contributions of time, talent, and resources for the benefit of our membership.  You may also reach out to me and our committee leadership by e-mailing us at ip@accglobal.com.

Best regards,

John Bates

ACC IP Committee eGroup - Over 7,100 Members & Growing!

The Intellectual Property Law Committee annually experiences participation by many hundreds of our global members in monthly events, presentations, meetings, and ACC Annual and interim meetings, forums, and presentations happening daily around the world.  Among our many online resources, our best resources are each other, and we leverage our collectively knowledge, skill, and abilities in many ways using the ACC website.  Login to the ACC website now and visit our IP Committee eGroups forum.

The ACC IP Committee eGroup postings are a forum for members to present general and tactical questions, exchange ideas, share best practices, offer template forms, reach out to international membership for information and advice on issues in non-familiar jurisdictions, and many other resources.  Members may submit eGroup inquiries, and every member may respond.

All can anonymously post questions and answers. DISCLAIMER:  eGroup responses are informational only, and are not considered legal advice or counsel.  A client – attorney relationship is not formed from such communications.

We strongly encourage our membership to take advantage of this invaluable resource. Postings may be found here. If you have questions or need assistance, contact Communications Chair Sean Casey.
