Updates From ACC Committees

Message from James Dixon - Energy Committee Chair

For those who made it to Boston for the ACC 2015 Annual Meeting, I hope you found the meeting enjoyable and educational. For those who missed it, you missed a lot of good times and good learning.  Don’t miss next year’s meeting in San Francisco, October 16-19, 2016 (or the first Mid-Year Meeting in New York City April 10-12, 2016).

A special word of thanks to Sutherland for their hospitality during our opening get-together at the top of the John Hancock building. It was a fine view, good food, great music and fine company.

And a second word of thanks to Craig Johnson who preceded me as Committee Chair.  Craig’s job has been relocated to Asia and with the time difference he will not be as active in the Committee as he usually is.  We wish him luck and welcome him to call into the Committee call whenever he’s having a restless night.

The Committee leadership is looking forward to providing you with the best programs and resources possible.  Thanks to those who provided input through our Annual Meeting survey, but it doesn’t have to end there.  If you have a subject idea for a LQH, resource or program, let us know.  The contact information for the leadership is on the Committee web page.

Finally, as we wind down 2015, here’s wishing you a relaxing and safe holiday season.

Jim Dixon

Membership – Chapter Liaisons

If you are interested in being a chapter liaison for your area, please email our Membership Chair Ashlee Effler

eGroups

The Energy Committee’s mission is to provide materials, training, continuing educational opportunities and resources for ACC members with an interest in the Energy industry. The Committee, which currently comprises more than 2,000 ACC members across the US and around the world, provides a forum for in-house counsel to analyze and discuss recent cases, laws and regulatory actions relevant for their practice.

If you have not yet taken advantage of the Energy Committee eGroup, we highly recommend that you post your questions and concerns. Members actively share forms, checklists, practice tips and policies on key energy-related topics. You can also search for topics in eGroups to see if other members have had similar issues. ACC has also provided the capability to post you inquiry anonymously. It is a fantastic resource to mine the knowledge of your colleagues. Login to your ACC account and tap into the Energy Committee eGroup via the committee webpage. If you have questions or need assistance, email Communications Chair Elizabeth Schultz.

Authors and Ideas

Our members are a prolific group and we are always looking for more aspiring or current authors. If you are interested in authoring or co-authoring a resource, or if you have any ideas for a resource or a topic for a future webcast that you would like the Energy Committee to consider, please email our Resources Subcommittee Chair Stefano de Stefano.

2016 Annual Meeting Call for Program Topics
