NETWORKING FOR ACC COMMITTEES
There are many ways for ACC members to communicate or ""network" with fellow members throughout the world.  One of the most popular of these networks is the Committee Public Listserv. This self-subscribing service is member-protected and used to share information about trends in various practice areas, to request referrals for outside counsel within the US and other countries, as well as to "pick the brain" of experienced colleagues on particular issues. Subscription information can be found at the bottom of each ACC committee webpage. Once you receive a confirmation email with the address for the listserv you will be able to share your expertise, resources  and inquiries with other ACC members who have subscribed to that listserv.  If you have questions concerning committee listservs please contact Jacqueline Windley, ACC staff attorney and committees manager.

You can also search the ACC Member to Member directory to find other in-house counsel who have volunteered to talk to you about particular topics, and the ACC Member Directory can be used to find contact information for ACC members. You will need your ACC member user name and password to use any of these resources.

ACC FINANCIAL SERVICES COMMITTEE TAKES SHAPE
During ACC’s 2005 Annual Meeting members who work in the finance, banking and insurance industry met to form the beginnings of the ACC Financial Services Committee.  Our goal is to have this group approved as an ACC committee during 2006. Several members have expressed an interest in this effort, thus a conference call will be held on December 14 at 2:00 PM EST to provide an opportunity to share ideas, suggestions and goals for this group.  Please contact Jacqueline Windley to request a notice for this call.

ACC EDUCATION FOR 2006
The new year is quickly approaching and with it comes a new selection of educational programs from ACC.  2006 will be packed with many opportunities to learn, network, and earn continuing legal education credits. Whether you are new to in-house or are seasoned corporate practitioner, join us at one or more of our educational meetings.  Mark your calendar now for a busy 2006 agenda.

Annual Meeting 2006 Call for Programs
Do you have fresh ideas for a CLE program?  Share them with ACC and take a chance to become a part of the ACC Annual Meeting.  We are now accepting program ideas for our 2006 Annual Meeting (The Road to Effective Leadership, October 23-25, Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, CA).  Submit your ideas online before January 10, 2006 to have them considered.  The final meeting schedule will be announced in the March issue of the ACC Docket.  Questions?  The education team can help.  Call 202.293.4103, ext. 315.

ACC Europe’s Corporate Counsel University
Open only to in-house counsel, ACC Europe’s Corporate Counsel University (February 12-14, Amsterdam Marriott, Amsterdam, Netherlands) will teach you how to excel in your new role with a focus on the basics you need to succeed. You will learn first-hand from your in-house colleagues who have been there and share ideas with those who are there now. You will have the chance to learn from other in-house experts on such topics as how to be a successful in-house practitioner, EU competition, financial analysis, data protection and retention, and bring you up to date on all those "small" but really big issues for which no other prior education has prepared you. Plus we'll provide you with plenty of networking time to meet and talk with other members so you can establish contacts that will help you long after the meeting.  For more information on this meeting, visit www.acca.com/acce/ccu/06/.

ACC’s 4th Annual Corporate Counsel University: New Challenges/New Solutions
Have you recently entered a new phase in your legal career? If you are new to in-house practice, or moving up as a legal manager, ACC’s 4th Annual Corporate Counsel University: New Challenges, New Solutions (May 21-23, Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, Baltimore, MD), is for you. In-house counsel face a number of challenges during their legal careers, but a move in-house or a move up to legal management are two of the toughest. At the same time, the role of in-house counsel has been changing in recent years, and continues to evolve. Open only to in-house counsel, Corporate Counsel University will teach attendees how to excel in their new roles during this time of change. Registrants will learn first-hand from in-house colleagues, with a focus on the basics needed to succeed. Like all ACC programs, Corporate Counsel University will emphasize practical tips and hands-on advice, with plenty of opportunities to interact with faculty and other attendees.  Don’t delay, register now and save $$.

ACCE In Greece
Like the world we live and practice in, the in-house legal profession is continually evolving. We are no longer just "the company lawyer" - we are managers, advisors, strategists and executives. As in-house counsel, we perform all these roles and more. To be successful, we need access to information and networks to help us stay on top of the changing demands on us, and we need to continue to build and hone our substantive legal skills and knowledge.

Join us for ACC Europe's 2006 Annual Conference: Taking the Lead as In-house Counsel (14-16 May, Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel, Athens, Greece). Programs will feature cutting-edge management advice, open opportunities to network with the best and brightest in the in-house legal profession, and provide substantive legal updates. For more information, visit www.acca.com/acce/06 or contact a staff member at acceurope@acca.com.
