Corporate & Securities Law Committee

NOTE FROM THE COMMITTEE CHAIR
ACC's Corporate and Securities Law Committee continues to provide ACC members with cutting edge information about new developments with the SEC and matters relating to corporate responsibility. Most recently, the Committee submitted comments on Section 404 of Sarbanes Oxley. These comments were submitted for consideration during the April 13 roundtable discussion held by the SEC to solicit feedback regarding the experiences of registrants, accounting firms and others in implementing the new internal control requirements under Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Thanks to Howard Kline and others for this effort.

The Committee is developing other resources, including webcasts such as Nonqualified Deferred Compensation - Validating Your Section 409A Transition and Compliance Plan, a recent presentation by the Committee and Kilpatrick Stockton. And as usual, the Committee has a full track of programs planned for the 2005 Annual Meeting.

Be sure to visit the Corporate & Securities Law Committee webpage for information about these and other Committee activities. You are also encouraged to share your ideas and to participate in the Committee's monthly teleconferences held on the 2nd Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.  Please contact ACC's committee manager, Jacqueline Windley, for more information.
